function DbInfoDescription() { document.write('Created in 1785, Northumberland County is located in east-central New Brunswick and was one of the province\'s original eight counties. It is bordered by Restigouche, Gloucester, York, Sunbury, Victoria, and Kent counties. Compiled from original federal documents in the National Archives of Canada, this database is an index of census records for county residents in 1901. Each record provides the resident\'s name, birthplace, and relationship to the head of household. Film, district/subdistrict, page, entry, and family numbers are also provided to help researchers obtain the original record, if desired. Part One of the database contains records from the following subdistricts: Alnwick (A), Blackville (B), Blissfield (C), Chatham and Chatham Town (D), and Derby (E). Containing the names of more than 14,000 individuals, this database can be a helpful and informative collection to researchers of eastern Canadian ancestors. <p>Every effort has been made to transcribe the names as they were recorded by the enumerators in the original schedule.
